Hermes+ systems integrated in machines in the automotive supply sector
Components need labeling
Fichter machines and systems are in use at well-known suppliers of the automotive industries. Especially in the automotive sector the marking of components is an integral part of the quality management. For example, specifications and standards must be guaranteed. In addition, there are high demands on
- Process stability,
- Reliability of the system,
- Accuracy of print and position even at spots that are difficult to access,
- Flexibility as regards the size and quantity of the components,
- The protection from acids, mechanical abrasion or dust.
Close collaboration with cab
When it comes to the conception and integration of automatic labeling solutions in Fichter systems, Fichter successfully collaborates with the Karlsruhe-based family business cab for more than 13 years. The cab Hermes+ print and apply system is designed for fully automatic marking products in production lines. Following there are two practical examples.
Labeling on non-flat surfaces
In the production of a provider of vibration technologies for cars the Hermes+ print and apply system labels components of various sizes. In order to automatic label hydromounts, absorbers and dampers that reduce noises and vibrations, the system has been equipped with a stroke applicator and a silicone form pad. These precisely apply labels on cylindrical, curved and inclined items. The label is held by the applicator during the printing process. A short stroke cylinder moves the transfer module horizontally to the labeling position and places the label on the product. The label is smoothly adapted to the component via the silicone form pad.
Processing different components
A longtime Fichter customer specializes on the production of individual heaters of fuel, air or vehicle interior. To label different components in the geometries, the Hermes+ system has been equipped with a stroke-turn applicator and a customized pad. By means of this it is possible to process different label sizes. The labels are smoothly applied on the components, with slightly uneven surfaces balanced by a damping pad at the transfer module.
For integration in higher-level control systems a digital I/O interface is provided. The labeling process is started or stopped via PLC. Status signals and errors are assigned to the higher-level control.
